Catching Up

We havent' updated the blog as often as we'd like, lately, so here's some pictures from the last week. We all promise to blog more often...

Typical afternoon:

A visit from Jesse, Kim and little Rosemary, who was born on the same day as Julia.

Go Hokies!

And then back to the usual.

1 Month Already

Time flies.
Julia is already 1 month old, and she is getting bigger every day.

Unfortunately she's already outgrown Aunt Mariana's doggy sweater. We could squeeze her in, but she couldn't move her arms much.... She did look great in it, though!

Lucky for us, Julia has a wardrobe full of other cute outfits to wear.

The Mocanu Girls

It took a few seconds for everybody to find their position:

But eventually we managed to get a good picture of the 5 Mocanu Girls:

Weekend Socials

This weekend, Julia went out and met people.

First, there was Djartfest 2006 (what is a jart?), where she got to meet a number of very charming and incredibly good-looking people (some of which, apparently, occasionally read this blog). Unfortunately, the camera stayed at home.

Second, again without photographic evidence, Andy, Marcia and Ed came over for brunch. We took a walk around here. The weather was great: cool but very sunny.

So, despite not having pictures of the above two events, we can at least show a few photos of Julia relaxing at home. This is, after all, the main reason why anybody visits this blog.

First, the "Baby Dance":

New Routine

Lately, Ricardo's been working half-days, in order to stretch the time spent at home. This has worked out pretty well for both Roxi and Julia, who both get to sleep in in the mornings, get breakfast, and shower. Barkly also seems to use the mornings to relax and sleep in.
By lunchtime, Ricardo comes back, sometimes with some groceries, and his job is to hold Julia (between feedings) and allow Roxi to do other things and relax for a bit.

Of course, convincing Ricardo to hold Julia is not a problem:

He sometimes makes use of this time to do silly things (notice how small Julia still is):

A more close-up look (by popular request):

Why are there not more pictures of Roxana lately? Every time that she is at rest, she either has a boob out (blog self-censorship), or she is napping (don't want to wake her up).

Visit from the Grandparents

This was an exciting weekend.

First, Julia got to meet Bunica and Bunicu Mocanu.

Next, Avó and Avô Trindade stopped by to see their favorite grand-daughter. Julia took this opportunity to pee on Avô, but since she looks so cute and innocent, there were no hard feelings.

There was much rejoycing and sharing of good food and gifts. The grand-parents took their leave and Julia went back to her eat-poop-sleep routine.

Another day - another walk

We again took Julia on a little walk around here. Roxi carried her in the sling, same as yesterday.

She seems to be very confortable being walked around in there. Reminded me of reading, in a book called "The Songlines", that babies really like the rythm of walking, such as when they are carried. The book said that this indicates that humans were once nomads.

Here's Julia before the walk:
