More Deer

1 adult and 2 young deer, early in the morning, through the living room window:

What were they eating? The crab apples that are falling to the ground.

"Stop taking pictures and pick me up!!"

We took advantage of yet another beautiful day on Sunday.

Sneaky Hoody

Julia, still trying Benjamin's "Sneaky Look", but not getting it quite right. Benjamin usually smiles when he looks at you sideways...

Boston Playground

The Trindade grandparents came to visit for 1 day, on their way to a vacation. We dropped them off at the Boston airport, and then spent a few hours walking around Cambridge.

Avó Gabi communicating with Julia.

Avô Carlos giving yet another rendition of "The Wheels On The Bus".

Julia exploring Cambridge Common.

And finally, enjoying the kid's playground at the Common.

Action!

For those who wanted to see Julia in action, here is a shot of a xylophone jam session.

Back to Bakerwoods

We spent a few hours at Bakerwoods Farm, some sort of animal farm owned by a crazy old lady (this is not just our opinion. she told us herself that's what she is). We had gone there together last year, and Roxi's been back with Julia on occasion. It's open to the public... and free.

Julia had a great time, pointing at all the animals, and yelling "AH!".

Newborn bunny.

There are some nice hiking trails around a small lake.

Mr Mom

Papa has been taking care of Julia 4 mornings per week lately. Two mornings until 11, and two mornings only until 8:30 or so.

It's been a lot of fun.

Here's the patootie enjoying a cool sunny morning.

Recent Julia

Some pictures of Julia, from tonight. The Newfie aunt should be happy now.

This is something that Julia enjoys (despite the look in this picture). She leans forward as much as she can, even if she has to squish dad's nose. Then she bites the toothbrush and ssslurrrp, drinks all the water out of it.

Hartford Riverfront

We went to downtown Hartford yesterday, for a change. There is a series of free activities organized throughout the summer at the Riverfront Park. We saw "Guitars Under the Stars", although we left well before sunset (no stars!).

The first hours was a husband & wife duo. The guy asked to cut in front of us at the beer stand (was a very hot day here), he said: "if you don't mind, I'm supposed to be on stage in a few minutes, and my wife will kill me if I'm late". Of course we let him through, and he offered to buy us our beer. Only after he left did we realize that he bought two beers, although Roxi doesn't drink... Free show and two free beers... :) We enjoyed their music: it included a very nice rendition of Recuerdos de la Alhambra, and some Brazilian stuff, among others. Julia was dancing on the grass.

The next guy was much better technically, but a less conventional style. Some parts were spectacular, but Julia was getting tired by then, so we headed home.

All in all, a very nice day. We were surprised at how few people attended this free concert. Quite a difference from Montreal's Jazz Fest, where it's almost too crowded (or is that part of the fun?).

We're thinking of going next weekend for the 7th Annual Dragon Boat Races and Asian Festival... hopefully we'll bring a camera this time.

Rosie's 1, too

Here's a picture from Jesse & Kim, taken at Rosie's 1st birthday party. Thanks for a good time!
