A good day

Julia and I just woke up from a good nap. She slept for 4 hours... and I joined her for the last 2, all this while poor Ricardo is slaving away at the office (needless to say, Barkly was sleeping too).

So anyway, after the nap, Julia asked to sit on the potty. While she sat there, she was making "ducky soupy" as she calls it.

After we were done with all that, she ran over to the kitchen enjoying being diaper-free for a few minutes.

A big yawn after a good nap.

Sneak!

The little guy does not understand why "bird food" is not called "squirrel food"...

... but Julia enjoyed watching him through the window this morning.

Julia and Barkly on Saturday

Julia "on the job".

Enjoying running around without a diaper:

The older baby (turned 13 years old a few weeks ago!), running around outside.

Come, Come, Comy!!!

Julia is talking a lot now, almost all the time. When I am busy doing something else and she wants me to come play with her, she says "Mama, come, come, comy!!!".

She's also been really interested in what Barkly eats and drinks. She often says "Doggy eats food" when she sees Barkly eating, and now she's learned that what Barkly really loves is cookies, so she says "Doggy cookie happy". Needless to say, Barkly is happy to have her around, especially since he gets a lot of her left-over food.

She is growing up so fast... she will be a year and a half in a month.

Here are a few pictures taken in the past month.

The Birds are Back

For some reason, we had not bothered with the bird feeders in some time... not sure why. We finally filled them up again, and almost immediately tons of birds were hanging out. Julia really enjoyed it.

Julia Sunday

Today was a nice relaxing day, good for recharging batteries and doing some odds and ends around the house. Tomorrow the weather forecast calls for a Nor'easter, which means a few inches of snow, and a lot of slow traffic (most people in CT don't get winter tires...).

In the meantime, it's sunny outside, and we all relaxed a bit.

Julia really likes this hat.

This is what happens when we tell Julia she can't climb onto the table (this lasts about 10 seconds).

Tummel

Somehow this thing ended up in our house, and Julia sometimes can't get enough of it. She seems to confuse the 'm's and 'n's, so she asks for the "tummel".

This was a few weeks back, the first day that she tried it:

Some Winter Scenes

We had a few cold days, but now we're well above the freezing point. There are still some crazy people on the lake, though:

Nice Hat

This is Sena modeling Julia's new hat. Thank you Tia Fufu...

Sleeping patootie

May I have this dance?

Julia and her papa slow dancing to Blue Rodeo ("Till I Gain Control Again", and "Dark Angel").

Julia usually likes a lot of bouncing when she dances, but this time, she was happy to just cuddle. She was so relaxed she fell asleep in his arms.

The Mocanu girls reunited

This was taken Dec 29. It wasn't easy getting all the kids to sit on the couch at the same time...

Last few days before going back home...

Spending some more quality time before going back home:

Still full of energy (and good looks):
