doggy pants

Julia wanted to show off her doggy pants. She also insisted on wearing one of her winter hats...

Here she is, looking a little goofy:

And finally, a smile:

Smile

Julia's been a little under the weather this weekend, but she still found the time to smile at the camera.

Asleep "on the job"

Julia was sitting on the potty, and I was sitting on the floor next to her. I was talking on the phone, and I looked over and noticed that she was leaning back and her eyes were getting really small. A minute later, she was asleep. So I took a picture, then carried her off to bed... Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, she was eating a cracker at the same time...

Another funny thing that happened yesterday, when I was outside with Julia: I said "See the beautiful flowers?". She looks at the flowers, then she replies: "Yeah, yummy... make soupy!". I guess she must have been a little hungry, and those daffodils looked pretty tasty...

Sleeping Better

We can all sleep a little better today....

Zé, Elsa, Mount Royal, and Jack

What Imelda Marcos was to shoes, Julia is to hats... Here trying on one of Tanta's.

A few hours spend at the Chalet du Mont Royal, enjoying the beautiful weather and view:

And we met 2-week-old Jack, so tiny compared to big brother Benjamin (or to cousin Julia).

What's New This Weekend?

Nothing new from our side. By far the biggest news this weekend is the birth of little Jack. We are all very excited and looking forward to meeting the little guy. Julia has been saying "Cousin Dack" ever since Saturday morning (Jack was born late on Friday night). Way to go Susi.

Hat or Helmet?

Julia was trying on mama's hat:

Then she asked to wear her bicycle helmet. We haven't gone biking yet this year, but I am hoping that we will soon, now that the weather is looking nicer.

Cat Hat

Julia's favorite story these days is "The Cat in the Hat" by Dr. Seuss. She keeps asking us to read it over, and over again, which I don't mind too much, since I actually think it's a good story. Here's a picture of her enjoying the story by herself:

As I write this, she is sitting on my lap, and as soon as she saw the picture above she said "Cat Hat, mama read please!"

Almost potty-trained

Well, I am happy to say that Julia is almost fully potty trained now. When we're at home, she mostly wears "big-kid" underwear instead of diapers, and she tells us when she needs to go "pipi" or "caca". She even goes to sit down on her potty all by herself.

This is a big relief, as we have to wash fewer diapers now. However, she still wears diapers at night, or if we go out somewhere, so it's still a work in progress from that point of view.

She is so proud of herself whenever she does something on the potty, she stands up and says "Yey! Mama see! Papa see!"

Just as I was sitting in the office writing this, she came over, took my hand, and walked me over to the bathroom, where she showed me that she had done "caca" on the potty. Yey!

Here's a picture of her sitting on the "big potty".
