Acadia Day 7 (Last One)

Our last full day...

Morning gulls:

We then hiked up the Cadillac North ridge trail, which has beautiful view of Bar Harbor and the coast, to the North-East.

The town in the distance is Bar Harbor.

Yours truly and a sleepy patootie, now on Gorham Mountain.

We ended the day back at Jordan Pond for some soup & popovers.

Whew! This is the last set of pictures. It may seem like a lot - I took many more pictures than I expected to in that 1 week. It's just a beautiful place. There are many things we'd like to do: walk on the Ocean path, ride bikes on the carriage roads, and many more hikes.

Acadia Day 6: What is this?!!?

This was a little rain... :(

It was just a little overcast in the morning, but eventually it started to drizzle, and eventually rain in the afternoon. Not too bad - we still hiked a bit, but then we took it easy in the afternoon, window-shopping in Bar Harbor.

Foggy morning:

Exploring the beach near the cabin:

Our hike, partway up the Cadillac South Ridge:

Acadia Day 5

Today I got up right around sunrise, and stepped outside the cabin for some fresh air, coffee, and a few pictures.

Then the 3 of us went on a pretty hike around Flying Mountain, via Valley Peak. The views were spectacular, as usual...

(no, Roxi was not blurry, but this "panoramic" software didn't handle that region well. But, you get the idea)

We made it partway up Cadillac (by car) on the way back, to catch this sunset.

Acadia Day 4

Susi took her boys back to Montreal in the morning, after breakfast. The rest of us went for yet another hike, this time around Eagle lake.

Cousins playing.

After they left, Julia kept asking "where are my friends?"...

The carriage road (a biking/walking trail that goes all over the park).

Acadia Day 3

Day 3 started with breakfast at Susi's cabin. Oatmeal, coffee, and books:

Jack & Julia:

We then went for a relatively easy hike around Jordan Pond. This picture shows the "Bubbles" in the distance.

Yes, another day of great weather...

The gang, going through one of the more difficult sections.

The kids, taking a break (with mama keeping a close eye).

The other mama (a daily picture of Sue & Jack).

On the walk back.

Then, back at the cabins, we saw a nice sunset.
