Abby's 3

Abby turned 3 years old and invited her friends to a party at the Lutz Children's museum in Manchester.

Here is Julia posing at the top of the "boat" stairs.

Playing in the Yellow Submarine... "And we lived a life of ease..."

A recent addition: Abby's little sister Anne.

The little group.

The birthday girl, petting a chinchilla.

Julia too!

The Klinowsky girls, Amalia, Maura and Anna. Can you see the family resemblance?

An impromptu theater.

Gymnastics & Ice Cream

Saturday gymnastics class has become a big hit. She kind of does what she's told, talks to the other kids, but most importantly she runs around, has fun, and spends lots of energy.

Here she is, jumping with both feet on the long trampoline... ok, we have to work on this a little.

Walking on beams is a lot of fun, though.

The beautiful gym.

After gymnastics, a stop at the library, and then some UConn ice cream.

Savoy Mountain Day 3

Today we headed back home.

Julia helping Andy pack up the tarp.

They have a lot in common...

Our last little hike was probably the best one. Kind of steep going up, but it's only 1.5 miles. The top had a nice view and, more importantly, a nice breeze.

We also had a nice view of rain clouds...

We came back down and drove home in the rain.

Another very relaxing weekend. :)

Savoy Mountain Day 2

The weather forecast was such that it could have been raining all the time, or just a little cloudy. We got a few clouds, a little rain overnight, but mostly sunny/cloudy during the day. Fine for camping and hiking.

Julia, Marcia and Downie having breakfast.

A little hiker we met on the trail.

A robin near the pond.

Julia made a few friends, including Megan.

I spent some time chasing butterflies...

We also kept a close watch on a birdhouse.

The little guy would peek out once in a while and fly off.

Once he flew off, you had to be pretty quick on the shutter to catch him.

Savoy Mountain Day 1

We spent a few days camping in Savoy Mountain this weekend. It's the fourth time in the last 2 or so years, probably because it's relatively close, accessible, and very relaxing.

Here are a few pictures from the first day, relaxing on the side of "North Pond".

Julia kept collecting flowers for Andy and Marcia who were to join us later that day.

Splashing back and forth on the beach was also a big hit.

Sometimes Julia could do both at once.

Finally, Andy and Marcia got there, and old friends were reunited again.

Julia had fallen off a guardrail earlier... :(

Then, after dinner, a nice fire by the tents.

Shining a light through a cheek shows the inside of your mouth!

More to come...

This is how a day-trip to NYC starts:

The playgrounds in Central Park are huge!
