3!!!

Big day today... you know what day it is.

A shyness attack caused her to hide in the 'jungle':

The boys.

Girls debating how to put on a show.

Some patient spectators.

Claire.

Julia trying desperately to blow out the third candle...

...until Rosie (who also turned 3 today) helped out.

Stewie.

Girls on the swing.

Thank you all for coming!

JF and Boston

On Sunday, we did a quick stop at the farmer's market to pick some some essentials for dinner that night...

...then we headed to Boston for the afternoon.
This is Quincy Market.

It was hot, and we were happy to find Frog Pong, in the middle of Boston Common.

Some of us needed some beauty sleep.

We then headed back home for bbq dinner.

JF and the Hartford Asian Festival

Our good buddy JF drove down for the weekend, and lucked out with the weather. 30C and sunny, cool nights: real summer weather for a change.

We went to the Hartford "Riverfront Dragon Boat and Asian Festival", close to downtown. Boats seemed to range from amateur to some pretty competitive-looking people. It was fun to watch.

This is the view of downtown from the Riverfront park.

Right next door is the Connecticut Science Center, which is a pretty cool building. Our architect friend liked.

We then walked around town for a bit.

Had lunch at City Steam. Julia could not get enough of JF:

Walked back to the car, all a little tired from so much sun.

A lovely morning

Two baby deer walked by our living room window this morning, while I was doing some work on the computer. By the time I got the camera, they had moved to the back of the house. It's not a great picture, but it's the best I could do.

Having pancakes for breakfast on a beautiful Friday morning is a great way to start off the day.

Sunday

The start of the dog show (see behind Julia) was a little drizzly.

We've seen this guy a lot lately (which is fine by us). The nieces had never met him though, and all got along very well.

At some times, she had her whole hand in his mouth.

Later we went to Claire's 4th!
