Stella in the carrier

Asleep:

And awake!

The groundhog

This groundhog normally lives under the shed in our back yard. We see him occasionally, and just let him be. But this all changed when he started eating our vegetables (see the stems next to the cage? that used to be our kale!)... he had to be relocated ASAP! So we borrowed a humane trap from my sister and baited him with some ripe fruit and veggies.

Here he is in the back of Ricardo's car, on his way over to his new home... a few miles away from our veggie garden.

A few days later, I looked out the bedroom window, and there's another groundhog in our driveway. Or maybe it's the same one who walked all the way back... probably not! Anyway, I'm guessing this little guy is on his way over to our garden.

Julia on the morning of the second day of school

I had to wake her up again... but she was happy to be going to school.

I don't know why she's sleeping on the floor... I'm guessing she was playing for a while after we put her to bed, and she eventually just fell asleep on the floor.

Julia's first day back at school

Julia's school started up again... today was her first day. Her school starts at 8:30. This is what things looked like at 8... I had to wake them both us so we could get Julia to school on time.

On the positive side, Julia was happy even after I woke her up. The first thing she said to me is "I had a dream about Miss Natasha" (one of her teachers. She was so excited to be going back to school... She was all smiles when I dropped her off at school, and she sang all the way home after I picked her up (after lunch).

some more pics of the last few weeks

Julia

These tomatoes were grown by my sister, and they are incredible! We've canned some of them, and eaten lots of them fresh (in salads). Yum!

Another picture of Julia playing mini-golf for the first time. I love her focus, and the pink baloon tied to her wrist.

Stella learned to sit up...

... and she loves to hold a spoon

Friends

Our very good friends came over just for a day, breaking up their trip from Florida back home to Napanee. It was great - and long overdue.

Great Summer Day

A great summer day for the company group picnic. We went to a large resort North of here - and the weather was perfect. Julia and Stella both skipped her naps, but we all had a good time.

Yours truly, climbing the rock wall.

Julia "Tiger" Trindade:

The pool was a big hit.

Julia also went for 2 pony rides.

Family

Sue and the Boys came over for the weekend.

Here are Julia and cousins hiding the ball in the sand.

Julia and Stella.

We went back (again!) to Bakerwoods...

Are Julia and Benjamin related??

And I saw the cute nieces at the Storrs farmer's market.
