Acadia Day 2

Another beautiful day in Acadia.

We drove to the summit of Cadillac Mountain, which was swarming with tourists. The weather was perfect.

Here is Julia, enjoying the view.

We had to be careful as it was steeper than it looks.

Happy Jack.

What's in that puddle?

When Benjamin and his entourage went back 'home' for a nap, we took a little hike along the Cadillac South Ridge. The views were similar to the ones from the top, but there were far less tourists.

Acadia Day 1

We spent a week in beautiful Acadia NP. The weather was almost perfect the whole time. This time of the year the leaves are changing colours, making the scenery gorgeous.

As an added bonus, Susi, Andrew and the boys came from Montreal to see us for a few days!

Here's Julia, walking at low tide, near our cabins.

Lots more pictures to come... :)

A typical day with the kids

My sister and I exchange kids several times a week: she takes Julia when Ricardo and I are both working, and I take her kids when she needs a little break. It's a lot of fun hanging out with the three little girls. Our favorite pass-time is reading books. This pictures was taken by my mom one time when we were at the library. We read for hours sometimes, and they never get tired of it (and the library has an endless supply of fun books for kids). I love it too.

Three cousins

This is from Aiyana's birthday party last Saturday. The three girls are all sitting together, enjoying some ice cream (even though it was a really chilly day) and some fruit which we picked earlier this summer. Julia's all bundled up, and Sena looks like she's enjoying a warm summer day. Kids are funny...

We're looking forward to having Julia spend some quality time with cousins Benjamin and Jack in a few days.

Silly Patootie

While I was trying to get Julia to have a nap this afternoon she insisted that she wasn't tired, and refused to come to the bedroom with me. So I went to lie down on her bed while waiting for her. She stayed in the living room by herself, just reading her books, perfectly happy to be on her own. After a few minutes things got unusually quiet, so I thought I'd better check on her... silly patootie put herself to sleep, only minutes after she insisted that she's not tired... So even though my original plan (to have her follow me into the bedroom) failed, it all worked out in the end, and she's napping right now.

Here's another picture of her sleeping, this one's from this morning (Ricardo had to wake her up at 8 to bring her to my sister's house so he could go to work).

Aiyana's 3rd

Today we celebrated Aiyana's third birthday at her house, on a beautiful sunny day.

Here's the birthday girl (left), dancing with cousin Julia and sister Sena. A grandma and a grandpa are in the background.

Julia wasn't too interested in seeing the candles blown out.

Ed demonstrated how you move bees from one compartment to another in the hive. Fancy hat, and smoker, but no gloves.
