Newfoundland: Miscellaneous

These are some of the pictures from Newfoundland that did not fit into any obvious category.

Last Pre-Natal Montreal Trip for a While

And, of course, we saw the New Kid again.

Parents and grandparents are doing well, and apparently getting into some routine.

Friendly Neighbours

A few days ago, around 7 in the morning, we were getting ready for work: we let Barkly out into the back yard while we were showering, brushing our teeth, etc.

We noticed some adult deer on the outside of the fence, looking at Barkly, and him staring back at them. This was odd, since deer usually run away from anything, especially big dogs. Next thing we saw, a few minutes later, was Barkly chasing a little baby deer in the back yard.

No time to think! Roxana yelled "Barkly! Nooooo!", and ran out of the bathroom, toothbrush flying through the air, and ran out into the back yard, screaming and waving her arms.... stark naked. Our neighbours must be so impressed.

Barkly was good enough to abandon the chase and come inside the house.

The deer was scared but safe:

When we left, we let the fence gates open so that they could leave, and when we got back home, the deer was gone.

We are now waiting for the neighbours to put fake deer in our yard...

A few weeks ago, with the Dalias.

Yesterday, "borrowing" Barkly's bed.
