Very exciting news. Today Julia used the potty for the first time... We put it in the bathroom for the first time just this morning , and she seemed interested, so I took off her diaper and her pants, and let her sit on it. Then I told her that the potty is for doing "pipi" and "caca", and she just kept repeating those two words, like she often does with other words we use. A minute later, she sat up, and to my amazement, there was "caca" in the potty!!! Needless to say, both Ricardo and I were very excited, and so was Julia (she was clapping at her own achievement). For the next 30 minutes, she insisted on sitting on the potty, and I let her, figuring it's good for her to get used to it. While she was sitting there, she also did "pipi", and again, there was much excitement. Maybe it's just beginner's luck, but we're hoping to continue the trend. Later in the day she did "pipi" in her diaper, so this is by no means a done deal, but it's an exciting development nevertheless...
I apologize if this is more detailed than some of you would have wanted, but I think those of you who have young kids will hopefully relate.
