Dudley and Friends!

We met Dudley, Andy & Marcia at Mansfield today for a picnic.

I couldn't keep up with Dudley's running, when he did run (I need more practice....)

Julia enjoyed trying to teach Dudley to fetch.

Dudley was just playing with Andy...

... but lost a puppy tooth anyways.

Another thing Julia tried to teach Dudley was how to drink from a fountain.

Bike Ride

We got home after nap time yesterday, thinking that Julia would fall asleep on the car ride home. She sang songs the whole way, full of energy. Thinking that I could get a little exercise, I asked her to go for a little bike ride. After a few minutes into our 20min ride, she was awfully quiet...

She slept on the deck for about 45 minutes or so, until her face was wedged onto the hard part of the seat, and she woke up. Cranky.

But she slept well that night...

(speaking of bike rides, check out the great adventure of Ron and Marge - way to go guys!)

the last few days...

Flowers on our picnic table:

I really like these guys: they bring that wood-burning stove to the market, with fresh ingredients (they make it a point to tell us which local farm they got them from), and make pizza on the spot. They usually have one or two 'weird' choices. I had maple syrup and cheese last time.

New! From the front flower-bed. Anybody know the name of this?

Someone tell my mom not to look at what Julia's holding...

Eating raspberries, watching the horses go by.

Red fingertips.

She loved the corn... who knew?

A few from the weekend.

Wanting to be like Fufu.

We took a walk around the lake in the morning.

Holding on to the bagel.

Happy Jack.

Cherries

Julia and I went cherry-picking today. There's a farm not too far away which has pick-your-own cherries (Belltown Farm in S. Glastonbury), so we decided to try it for the first time this year. It was amazing, we picked 20 pounds in about an hour, and they are delicious! There were many trees of different varieties of cherries, some sweet, some tart, some yellow. We found one tree which had lots of Bing cherries (juicy and sweet) and picked enough cherries from this one tree to fill two big buckets. We're planning to go back on Thursday to get some more. For those of you wondering what we're doing with all these cherries, I figure we'll eat as many as we can fresh, share with our friends and family, and freeze a few for the winter. The cherry season is rather short, so I really hope to be able to pick some more before the end.

This was Julia, after she woke up from her nap, still covered in cherry-juice:
