Newfoundland: Houses in St-John's

Many houses in St-John's (and the rest of the island) are very brightly coloured - possibly 'cause the weather is so grey and dull. So much so, according to Mariana, that the soil in St-John's is not fit for gardening due to the lead content...

Fufu, é verdade que o weather aí é grey e dull???? Bolas, assim já não sei se vou até aí...A visa-me quando estiver blue e shining.

Nao e tao mao, tia. Nem sempre há chuva, frio, vento e nevoeiro. As vezes, só há um ou dois dos quatro.

Mas ouve ums dias onde esteje +20°C e sol, e era como se fosse uma maravilha para todos! :)
